The core functionality of the Psychic Summit: Aquarium 2 application centers around a sophisticated generative music engine. Utilizing select audio samples from the Aquarium 2 sessions—including works by Morgan Kuhli and Liteworks—as well as curated field recordings, the app offers a collection of interchangeable loops designed for seamless playback and remixing. Users can initiate a track using the tactile tone wheel interface and have the capability to layer additional sounds or complete tracks while in operation.

The app also serves as a remote control for the Aquarium 2 Blu-ray disc. This feature requires a Blu-ray player with BD-Live compatibility, a stable network connection, the specific BD disc, and an iPhone or iPod Touch with Wi-Fi capabilities.

Additionally, the application includes a comprehensive fish reference guide. It provides in-depth insights about each species within the tanks, supplementing the brief on-screen facts provided during playback. For users interested in exploring further, the guide offers detailed information to help identify and learn about their favorite aquatic inhabitants. All images are sourced directly from 4K Red master copies, ensuring high-quality visual references.
